I think nobody knows, is it, you know the the modern Internet is built on these things called request for proposals, […] and if you go back and you read RFP number one, the original ARPANET was built to make the use of NLS—the oNLine System—that you designed, the remote use of it possible.

So your oNLine System was I think, the first killer app, was supposed to be the first killer app for the ARPANET which became the Internet.

[Talking about NLS:] We had hyperlinks going, but hyperlinks […] between everything, and everything you could link to anything, and the hyperlinks.

[… We had] also all kind of optional viewing. So, one thing is wide view, and I clip paragraphs so I only showed the first three lines for instance, and so on the next line. [And after that would be a link], wouldn’t see that, but if he said jump to link, the system would go looking downstream for the link and take it.

I think the focus needs to be on capabilities that you can derive, and take the business of cost of learning and set it aside until you assess the values of the higher capabilities.
