In Star Trek; there is this idea that a more advanced culture/civilization must not interfere with the development of a more primitive one (primitive being a relative thing).
I live in Iran and for much of my life I have seen the rather barbaric ways people here treat each other. This country used to be the hell on Earth for someone who did not believe in God; or God forbid loved another fella of their own gender. And then as time passed by; things changed. The looks; the feels; all of the things. People began understanding that there is a bit of possibility their God is a scam, respect for the same-sex relationships is under way to be fully normalized and developed; people are not as harsh to each other and so on…
While it is easy to attribute this all to people having gotten social media and internet and therefore being “upgraded” somehow. The reality is far more complex. What I see isn’t people being fully transformed into 21st century people of the 2020s being concerned about the same things as the rest of the world; but rather seeing them as gradually being updated. To my surprise; Iran today feels like a combination of 60s, 70s, and the 90s of ███████
The new restaurants being created; the visual language; the air you breathe; they are all like the 60s. The clothes; and everything that is being made is perhaps like 70s and the online culture is a mix of 90s and today.
What is especially interesting is how much of it is being done. Today there is a concept named “Concept Store” being the hot thing in the city and culturally I notice it quite a lot. The way it brings interesting things for me is the reason it is there at all.
One can say that due to evolutionary reasons; efforts at bringing a full scale thing to Iran has failed miserably. (Actually not; they are quite successes, but; their creations are not culturally significant). What are culturally significant? The fact that they grew organically and from the right perspective.
Let me explain this further.

To explain it even easier; this is having one node of a system without its ecosystem. Imagine you want to build a restaurant in the middle of a desert. Everything that restaurant needs has to be imported by transportation at high cost. What happens then is you have high cost and extremely low resilience. Extremely!
For many years now; I have thought of information as a form of Energy that I cannot fully describe. Many before me have also thought about the same thing and this can be traced from many any directions: The Forms of Plato, Monads and the Universal Calculus of Leibniz, and Kant’s cognitive dimensions of Space, time causality. What also comes to mind is Hegel’s Information as becoming. The way it becomes a self updating system. And yet there exists much more. I recently saw the Star Guitar by The Chemical Brothers and it was impressive in every imaginable way. But of course; what I mean is the music video. Something that Maps the musical notation to the video’s mapping of objects around the train: the repetition of objects and their placements around the train from my point of view is so amazing that I just cannot explain.

I always wanted to have coherence across my things: even a single story. And with AnnotationsKit I can do this with precision that I never had.
