We don’t have any session today at the First Island . The tensions between the 🬍🬖🬱🬴🬤🬻 and Iran has raised quite a lot, and we had only eight artists attending yesterday. So around 10PM Kiana called and requested we move today’s session to Wednesday. I’m sitting alone here right now.
Forgive my tendency to reduce things if this is going to sound as such. However there are very interesting things that are as such. The beauty of good patterns is their predictive power. And things like Physics for example are in that manner. My approach to the mind sits somewhere very identical to the physics. One must try to find patterns so universal that they explain the most with least effort. One thing I have been speculating for some time has been the notion of “context”, “embodiment” or “Theme”. It was somehow obvious that the mind requires a machinery to load information and the one who knows about Graphs assumes information to be neighborhoods of these graphs. Really interesting things happen once this becomes functional. Given that I place no doubt on the simple fact that ideas are made of other ideas; I also never had any doubts on the derivation of its core that graph neighborhoods must matter. They have the power of loading a chain of things to
We have always known that the brain can hold nine to eleven things at “Top of its Mind” in any given time. Also the spatiality that Victor or McLuhan talk about; the theme that I had a fixation on; the Embodiment of the Psychoanalysis world; these all play the same instrument in my ear. And the interesting thing is that when the AI company Anthropic found the “J-Space” in the mind of their model “Claude” I was not at all shocked; only revealed; released the fact that this place in which we found Metaphysics actually exists; made me think about my failures. There was another very interesting research paper that came out today in Nature Communications and it explained a new discovery that explains normal decision making and the ones done in a habit are from two completely separate parts of the brain. Basically you offload parts of your identity into a separate system that does those things for you. It’s like a second brain in your own brain and not in a notebook or something.
The mind is very interesting. The two levels of the hardware and software are a curious case to fully diagnose. But we know of two things in the hardware for sure: A) It has a J-Space and B) it produces separate machines for task automation. Given how we have these, the learning becomes a culture of the two: ✦ Making the right things be in the J-space at all times ✦ Making these things in the J-space to find their machinery inside the habit execution subsystem. Today personally was a horrible day for me. I screwed up quite badly. Out of the fear of Trump’s planned attack on Iran, Kiana had called me in the middle of the night on what we must do. The right move must have been instructing her that no action has to be done. But then she continued and I for a second thought to myself that I must do something. If anything should happen this is going to be so bad. And so I thought okay this is a good call. However my problem was in how much power play is in the ways of Kiana and
so I had to be firm and say yes we do this. But then she — as always — started to question my authority and said: “Shouldn’t you ask for permission?” I had to… I said no and had to move like that. What I did not consider for a moment was asking from Ashkan or Tayebe . It has been the single most stupid decision of my working life. What the hell was I thinking? I honestly don’t know. And so Tayebe called today and all things went to fire. All because of my stupidity and what could have been way much easily fixed. I have been stressed and hated myself a lot today. There is also the fact that none of our protocols were clear and so I did not know what to do. But more than all of these. It was not on my context at all. I have been context engineering the LLMs with Archive for years now. How could I have not thought of my own job? So this is more important than
I was thinking about creating a book that would have random numbers in it. With that I imagined a production place that would produce original unique prints; meaning that each of the books would be unique and no two copies would ever be the same. This opened my mind to so many interesting new things.
The main thing in these things was having a new system for understanding the message. When I thought about these books I suddenly thought about the copies not being the “original reference” and that perhaps is the one and only one biggest thing Gutenberg Printing and Machines in general did for us. They eliminated the many copies and left us with just one. We could all watch the exact same Inception movie. Sure one could see it in the Cinema and one on their phone, but the main content has been the same for everyone around the world.
Now this is important because we normally have a two way transfer of the graph:

And well… Now just assume if the content itself was arbitrary, like an LLM

And so this is why the exactness of the medium is so interesting and important. Without it, you never understand the “interpretation” beyond the gutter. You understand the nuance in the Classical music.
But then also think about that. What do you think then the Jazz Standards are? Or what pop covers can be?

When you look at them, like that it becomes interesting. At the Jazz Standard level, you have way more structural understanding of the piece. So maybe if there are a hundred different books written about my book that is better right? Partially. It would give people the option to understand the work through variation; but they will never have the closest true external realization to mine.
The whole point to originality; therefore, becomes the fact that it is the purest touch to the creators own graph.
We all inherently know that the graph exists somewhere and that it can not be externalized. So we keep to the creations of each other; as they hold a portion of us that we can never hold otherwise.
Thats why Apple is never like when Jobs was alive and there are no longer any Beatles.
