Reading Maestro Wolfram ’s blog, I found out that his wife Elise has passed away the past month. What a horrible thing :(
This is the exact moment of my breakthrough on realizing the Hyper-Message is almost a Ruliad. That each mind kernel navigates it with their own unique rules, the computational equivalence makes it merge on shared names and objects. So the personal Mind Graph is always a cone slice of the Hyper-Message . After almost a decade and a half of knowing Maestro Wolfram , it is the most amazing honor to see not only we have a shared dream, but have each found the most bizarre and strange and crazy ideas in the world, and they are very much similar and talking to each other. Oh and BTW, this is the moment I officially became a physicist, a fundamental physicist. My work is no longer a physics of the mind, it connects to the physics as well.
Many years ago; I found about Maestro Wolfram . He was the fourth big figure of my life; after my Dad ; Maestro Stallman ; and Steve Jobs .
There was so much that I had learned from him. There has always been a very long standing idea that one can not do science and research and make a living. Bob Taylor says a lab can never produce products; but tools for product makers. Maestro Wolfram is the man who proved it wrong. He showed you can have a lab; make products; and be at the very cutting edge of what you do.
Back when I found him for the very first time; I was imagining the basis of my “Meta-Notation” and I found Maestro Wolfram Research and Mathematica. He had a coherent beautiful Website; he had a language that was the most eloquent piece of software I had seen. You could see in his language the beauty of the notation. My wish for having a software that actually rendered parentheses correctly was done in Mathematica; and more than that you could put an image into the input of a function; it had this strange and amazing mechanism for rendering things; for computing math in ways that I had never seen. How could a software compute a derivative and symbolically? It was genuinely very very amazing. And I could only take so much from him. I had discovered him through Maestro Wolfram Alpha and then the quest to find how that works which gave me Mathematica. And then I found this amazing beautiful calculator that worked like magic; the “Calca” (which inspired the name of Nota Language ). I found Calca trying to see what was possible with Xamarin. (as I used to code in C# with Mono for Linux) and so I was very much in love with Calca. It was a “what is possible look” into the mono. I’m getting ahead of myself. Once I knew about the Calca I had decided that if Frank (who made it) believes Calca is a mini calculator inspired by Mathematica I just want to build something just that. And it became Intactus and then over the years Nota Language . I was very very much fascinated with him. how could his website be this great? His work has an integrity comparable to Apple. And it was no wonder he knew Jobs and that they worked together. I loved the logo of Mathematica and so it gave the years of my university a big theme. I created the Kary Foundation by the direct influence of “Free Software Foundation” and “Wolfram Research”. I wanted to make Maestro Wolfram grade software with free software ideology. Back then; I had spent a good portion of my time trying to understand how a symbolic calculator works; and I still could not figure out how he solves derivatives. Then I understood about rewriting systems and the notion of pattern matching Maestro Wolfram had invented for Mathematica. Trying to understand about that I arrived at the very first versions of Mathematica and then SMP. There I realized a very very interesting thing: He also had rendering of Mathematical Notations it was nothing as sophisticated as Nota; but that is all because he had moved to do it way way more sophisticated in a GUI environment. I was so happy back then; I thought there is something profound in a form of kinship between us. And then I found Maestro Maestro Victor and things changed for some good years. He became the fifth person who had a profound influence on my life. This went for a while till the current year.
At the beginning of the year; I was thinking about the Meta-Notation and it was one of the very early weeks of Archive being exportable to the the LLM readable format. LLMs told me that previous to you the great and only Gottfried Leibniz had tried to unify languages in his pursuit of Characteristica Universalis. To my wonder there was one more person in the whole world with my same mission to finish Characteristica and they were Maestro Wolfram . — Reading this came to me as a very big shock. I was not expecting this to be the result of my search. I had participated on the fact that I find a big Kinship between the both of us; but I could not see far; the life of mine that maybe all that similarity was because we shared a perhaps similar Mind Kernel and that; in his own terms; this would be the notion of computational equivalence.
And yet; given the fact that I was studying Media Theory; Psychology; Psychoanalysis; Maestro Victor ; Maestro Kay … I felt no longer connected to Maestro Wolfram . He was too rigid for my world. And well yesterday it all changed; and today… I must tell you.
Maestro Wolfram announced his physics project a few years ago and as always did it with some grandiose claim. I was a bit skeptical of his work; his claims have much excitement; and in the computing I give him full credit. Yet my physicist friends do not much credit him in the “New Kind Of Science”. And I was like; well; I will never be able to understand his work on fundamental physics. What is the point? That changed two days ago when I saw a Big Think video on YouTube with the man himself explaining his project and for one hour. I was very very excited. I told myself “Hey this would be a Michio Kaku explanation of his work” and watched it. At first I did not understand very much; what is the point of what he is doing and saying; but then it came to the idea of “Ruliad” and got interesting (before Ruliad it was all about old NKS things; his obsession with Rule 30; the computational irreducibility; equivalence; and all the things in the middle). So I went about and searched about Ruliad and printed his blog post about it. The video stopped and I was thinking how did he arrive at quantum physics and particles and stuff with just this? It was not that informative to be honest.
And so I kept reading his essay and more and more it felt like my theories — and again; after many years; just as it could not have become any more strange and bizarre; I collided with Maestro Wolfram in the two most bizarre; strange and unique theories of our century! The two things that both explain everything and so nothing are well… Very similar! and this similarity is way beyond I could see even in my wildest of dreams.
